HOW OFTEN SHOULD I REPLACE THE FILTER?

Depending on the quality of water being filtered and the frequency of use, our guideline is as follows: If 1-2 people are using the cooler, we recommend a new filter every 3 months. For 3 or more people we recommend a new filter every 1-2 months. For optimum filtration, replace your filter every month.

 

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN THE FILTER NEEDS REPLACING?

We recommend keeping track of when your filter was last replaced. We also recommend replacing the filter every month for the optimum in filtered water. If your filter is new and no water is coming out, rinse the filter under running tap water and shake gently for 30 seconds and replace again. You may find that the water is not passing through the filter as quickly or that the water taste is not as pure, indicating that it is time for a new filter. The water may also be slighter less clear.

 

IS IT COST EFFECTIVE TO USE THIS COOLER?

Yes, it is very effective! Each filter is able to purify approximately 120-130 gallons of water. This would translate to a cost of about 11 cents per gallon. This is approximately a 90% saving as compared to bottled water.

 

WHAT IS REMOVED BY THE FILTER?

Our filters are clinically tested by SGS France, which is one of the world’s leading water testing laboratories. The filters are also tested by NSF and WQA. The filters remove contaminants such as chlorine, most pesticides and heavy metals commonly found in tap water, microbiological pathogens, cryptosporidium, cholera, E-coli and more. Most importantly it softens the water unlike bottled water which is slightly acidic, and makes the water taste great.

 

HOW MUCH WATER DOES THE COOLER HOLD?

The BPA Free bottle holds 1.85 gallons and the reservoir holds another 0.2 gallons. Three 20 ounce glasses of ice cold water can be dispensed before re-cooling. This is more effective than competitive products in the market.

 

CAN THE TEMPERATURE BE CONTROLLED?

The temperature has a single setting of between 42 and 46 degrees which has been found to be the optimum temperature at which one enjoys their cooled water. There is the option of filtering the water and keeping it at room temperature without switching the unit on. We have found that most coolers with adjustable temperatures experience many functional and operational problems.

 

HOW BIG IS THE COOLER?

The Little Luxury cooler is only 22 inches high and weighs less than 8 pounds making it very mobile and suitable for any counter, desk or table top.

 

DOES THE UNIT ONLY FILTER TAP WATER?

The indoor series filter should be used only for tap water. The outdoor series filter can filter water from a river, lake, stream or any outdoor source as long as one can see at least one foot below the surface.

 

MY LITTLE LUXURY MAKES A NOISE AFTER DISPENSING A FEW GLASSES OF WATER.  IS THIS NORMAL?

Yes, this is perfectly normal. Once water is dispensed, more uncooled water flows through the filter into the reservoir and the fan will switch on in order to cool the filtered water in the reservoir. Once the optimum temperature is reached, the fan will turn off.

 

HOW DO I EMPTY MY LITTLE LUXURY IF I WANT TO TRANSPORT IT?

In order to transport your unit, you should remove and empty the plastic bottle. Pour one or two glasses of water so that the reservoir is not full. Carry the unit to your sink. Underneath the unit you will find a removable rubber drain plug. Simply remove the plug and let all the water flow from the unit. If you are moving your unit within your home, you should carefully remove the plastic bottle. Then pour a glass or two of water through the tap to drop the water level in the reservoir. It would then be easy to move the unit without spilling water.

 

WHAT IS THE WARRANTY ON MY LITTLE LUXURY?

Your Little Luxury unit comes with a one year warranty on all parts. It is important for you to register your unit by mailing in the warranty registration card that comes with the user guide or that you register it  online at littleluxury.com in order to ensure that you are covered by the warranty.

 

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?

We offer a 30 day money back guarantee, no questions asked, for sales from our website. Beyond 30 days, we have a one year warranty on all parts for customers that register their unit by either mailing in the warranty card included with the user manual or by registering online. We will fix or replace your Little Luxury, should there be any factory defects. Note that we will not replace filters which should be retained if a unit is returned.

 

WHERE CAN I GET NEW FILTERS FOR MY LITTLE LUXURY?

I DO NOT HAVE A SINK DEEP ENOUGH TO FILL MY LITTLE LUXURY BOTTLE.  IS IT SAFE TO FILL MY BOTTLE IN THE SHOWER OR WITH A GARDEN HOSE?

It is safe to fill your bottle from your bath tub/shower or garden hose. If you have a sink that is not deep enough to fill your bottle, we recommend that you use a funnel. We plan on offering an accessory in the near future for this purpose.

 

HOW DO I FILL MY BOTTLE?

Remove the empty bottle and refill at the faucet or tap. Before replacing the bottle on top of the unit, take out the last bit of remaining water by drawing a glass. This prevents splashing. You can now place the bottle on top of the unit again.

 

 

IS MY LITTLE LUXURY SAFE TO USE OUTDOORS?

The indoor series unit is designed for indoor use, using regular city tap water. There is however no problem using it on a covered patio or similar outdoor environment. The outdoor series is suitable for any outdoor use and the outdoor filter will filter water from a river or stream as long as you can see at least one foot beneath the water surface.

No. Your unit will be 120v. We do have 240v units available should you need to place a special order for one.

I'M GOING ON VACATION.  SHOULD I TURN OFF MY LITTLE LUXURY UNIT?

It is recommended that if the unit is not being used for a few days or more, that you turn the unit off. You should however, also remove the filter from the cooler.

 

I’M NOT IN THE OFFICE AT NIGHT OR OVER WEEKENDS. SHOULD I SWITCH MY VITALITY UNIT OFF?

Yes, you should switch it off if you won’t be using it over the weekends or at night. By switching it off, you will be saving power when the cooler is not in use.

 

WHAT IS THE AMPERAGE?

The Little Luxury Cooler runs on 85 watts intermittently and between 0,2 to 1 amps, depending upon demand for cooling.

 

IS THE LITTLE LUXURY EASY TO FILL AND WILL MY CHILDREN BE ABLE TO USE IT?

It is very easy to fill. Once it needs refilling, simply remove the bottle from the base, unscrew the cap, fill with tap water, recap it, invert and place it on the cooler. Children are definitely able to draw water from the cooler.
